It can be argued that a person can practice Landlord Tenant Law under GATT (The General Agreement on Tariff's and Trade) as long as the person agrees that he or she can be civilally sued under the following two common law legal rules:
1. The lay attorney can be sued civilly for malpractice, that is, for practicing law unreasonably in relation to his or her client.
2. The lay attorney can be sued civilly for breach of fiduciary duty to the client.
